KAPS hosted its 2026 Annual Scientific Conference on 25th–26th June at the PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Convention Centre, Mombasa, under the theme “Advancing Paediatric Surgical Practice.” The two-day event brought together 53 delegates from across Kenya and East Africa for eight scientific sessions and 40+ presentations spanning general paediatric surgery, minimal access surgery, gastroenterology and colorectal surgery, urology, and surgical oncology. Highlights included a keynote address by Dr Stephen Okelo on paediatric anaesthesiology in rural settings, a guest lecture by Dr Safwat Andrawes marking 45 years of surgical experience in Kenya, the Annual General Meeting, and a celebratory gala dinner — capping a milestone gathering for the paediatric surgical community.
