Dr. Rachael Njeri is honoured to receive the M. James Warden Scholarship award – 2025 to pursue Paediatric Surgery at the University of Nairobi. Her passion for the specialty was inspired by witnessing, during her internship training, how limited access to quality paediatric surgical care in Kenya has led to children succumbing to surgical conditions that could otherwise be mitigated through early intervention. She enjoys working with children, sharing that “children are so genuine and they lift my spirit.” This life-changing opportunity will enable her to actualize her dream of becoming a paediatric surgeon without the financial strain associated with training. She is deeply grateful to KAPS for this opportunity.
