Kenya Association of Paediatric Surgeons (KAPS) was officially registered in 1992 as a Kenyan professional organisation dedicated to paediatric surgery. We are committed to excellence in evidence-based care and developing standards and guidelines that influence public policy.
We have held free surgical camps annually in different counties, reducing pain and suffering in children who cannot access paediatric surgical services, in line with the 8th Millennium Development Goal.
To promote quality surgical care to paediatric patients in Kenya through evidence-based practice, and to develop standards and guidelines that influence public policy through a community of Paediatric Surgeons.
Excellence in evidence-based care in Paediatric Surgery — ensuring every child in Kenya has access to safe, high-quality surgical care delivered by skilled, compassionate surgeons.
Since our founding, KAPS has grown into a vital force in paediatric surgical care, education and advocacy. Our members span universities, hospitals, and private practice across Kenya — creating a network that drives real change in healthcare policy and professional standards.
