From 15–17 May 2023, KAPS held a joint camp at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital and Kilifi County Referral Hospital. A multidisciplinary team of 62 specialists operated on 108 paediatric patients across 100 procedures. The camp significantly reduced the surgical waiting list and enhanced paediatric surgical capacity within both counties. Key partners included the County Governments of Mombasa and Kilifi, Mombasa Cement, Cerba Lancet, KidsOR, Karl Storz, Prota, Kenyatta National Hospital, Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, and other corporate and charitable supporters.
