We at KAPS extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Warden family for their generous contribution through the American Friends of Kenya Association of Paediatric Surgeons Fund, which played a pivotal role in the success of the Paediatric Surgical Training Workshop held in Garissa, Kenya, from September 30th to August 2nd, 2024.
Through their support, 101 needy children received life-changing surgical care, while 15 paediatric surgical residents gained invaluable hands-on training, strengthening their skills and capacity to serve future patients.
Their generosity has not only transformed lives but has also contributed to the advancement of paediatric surgery in Kenya. We sincerely appreciate their commitment to improving children’s health and surgical education.
The Warden family, through the American Friends of Kenya Association of Paediatric Surgeons Fund, has also committed to supporting the training of one needy paediatric surgery trainee every year, beginning with the 2025/2026 academic year. This generous initiative will help nurture future paediatric surgeons, ensuring sustainable growth in the field and improved surgical care for children in Kenya.
Additionally, the Warden family has pledged to support the Kenya Association of Paediatric Surgeons (KAPS) Training Workshop for 2025, set to take place in Kisumu, Kenya. Their continued support will enhance paediatric surgical training and service delivery, ultimately benefiting both trainees and children in need of specialized surgical care.
We deeply appreciate the Warden family’s unwavering dedication to advancing paediatric surgery in Kenya.
